One year to go until Madrid 2025 European Athletics Team Championships on a CONICA Track
28. June 2024
It will be the first time Spain has hosted the biennial event since the event was created in 2009. Although Madrid (1996) and Malaga (2006) both hosted the European Cup, the previous incarnation of Europe’s biggest team competition for Member Federations.
Italy set for strong defence
Italy will be defending the title they won for the first time ever when the last event took place in Silesia, Poland in 2023.
And with record-breaking results for the Italian team at the Roma 2024 European Athletics Championships on 7-12 June, where they won 24 medals including 11 gold, they will once again present a formidable challenge.
They will compete against teams from Poland, Germany, Spain, Great Britain & NI, Netherlands, France, Portugal, Czechia, Sweden, Finland, Switzerland, Greece and the three promoted nations Hungary, Ukraine and Lithuania.
The event will take place at the Edstadio de Vallehermoso on a track laid by European Athletics’ preferred suppliers Conica.
Julio Fernando Fadel, Head of Global Marketing & Communication at Conica, expressed his excitement, stating, “We are thrilled that European Athletics and the Spanish Federation have selected this unique CONICA track at the Estadio de Vallehermoso for this prestigious event, recognizing the exceptional quality of our track. It is an honor to contribute to such a significant competition and to support the athletes in their quest for excellence.”
