Conica at FSB 2023: Close to customers thanks to good discussions in a full alpine hut and panel discussion
15. November 2023
From Oct. 24-27, Conica once again took part at the leading international trade fair for open spaces, sports and exercise facilities (FSB). Conica’s Swiss alpine hut was a crowd-puller each day of the event. And the panel discussion in the Cologne Sky Building above the rooftops of Cologne inspired more than 240 guests.
Since FSB only takes place every two years, it was important for Conica to show its presence and maintain personal contact with its international team from around 20 countries, including customers and other business partners from Germany and abroad. This year, too, the trade fair took place together with aquanale, the International Trade Fair for Sauna,Pool,Ambience. Over 820 exhibitors from 45 countries attracted over 25,000 visitors from 123 countries – an increase of around 56 percent compared to the trade fair in Corona in 2021.
Panel discussion with top line-up
Conica retained the tried-and-tested exhibition stand concept of the last events. The focus was on the so-called Base Camp in the form of a Swiss alpine hut. In 2019, the “mountain tour” began at an altitude of 1,600 meters. In 2021 and 2023, Conica took its customers to the summit. There, visitors enjoyed delicious original Swiss raclette as a refreshment to the conversations. The exchange with decision-makers from the fields of sports and leisure facilities, sports clubs, architecture and municipalities was lively.
The highlight of this year’s show was a panel discussion with over 240 guests in the Cologne Sky Building, moderated by Andy Kay, former managing editor of BBC Radio Sport, and Alexandra Wizor, also known as Ola, a well-known content creator.
Representatives on the podium included: Christian Milz, CEO of European Athletics; Steffen Willwacher, professor of biomechanics at the University of Offenburg; Tomas Stukas, head of development at Active Vilnius; and Kevin Young (USA), former Olympic champion and world-record runner of over 400-meter hurdles.
